  • Routine Maintenance

Routine maintenance for marine engines is crucial for ensuring their longevity, reliability, and optimal performance. Proper maintenance helps prevent breakdowns and costly repairs while ensuring safety at sea.

  • Repairs and Overhauls

Engine repairs and overhauls are more intensive processes compared to routine maintenance. Repairs typically address specific issues that arise during operation and they can range from minor fixes to more complex issues. Common signs that your engine needs repair include poor performance, unusual noises, overheating, or vibrations. Overhauls involve restoring the engine to like-new or near-new performance. An overhaul is a major repair where the engine is taken apart and many of its components are rebuilt or replaced.

  • Fuel System Services

Fuel system maintenance is essential for the reliable performance of your marine engine. Regular inspection, cleaning, and replacement of components like fuel filters, lines, and injectors will help ensure that your engine runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely. By keeping the fuel system in top condition, you can avoid expensive repairs and ensure your engine’s longevity on the water.

  • Exhaust System Maintenance

Regular maintenance of the marine engine exhaust system ensures that the engine runs smoothly and efficiently while reducing harmful emissions. By regularly inspecting and maintaining key components like the exhaust manifold, risers, mufflers, and hoses, you can avoid costly repairs and extend the life of your engine. Always be proactive in maintaining the exhaust system, as neglecting it can lead to poor engine performance, safety issues, and environmental concerns.

Engines spare parts

Marine engine spare parts are crucial for maintaining boats operations and ensuring safety. They are essential for preventing breakdowns, minimizing downtime, and extending the lifespan of marine engines. Using quality spare parts, especially genuine OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts, guarantees reliability, efficiency, and longevity of the engine.

B

Lubricants and additives

Lubricants are essential for maintaining the efficiency and longevity of marine equipment, especially engines. They help reduce friction, minimize heat buildup, protect against corrosion, and act as cleaning agents. Marine lubricants include engine oils (for main and auxiliary engines), greases (for various equipment), and specialized lubricants for specific applications like shaft tubes, deck machinery etc.

Marine fuel additives are designed to enhance fuel quality and engine performance. They can improve combustion, reduce fuel costs, and contribute to reduced environmental emissions. These additives help optimize engine reliability, boost performance, improve fuel economy, and reduce maintenance requirements

Batteries

Starting batteries, deep cycle batteries, and dual-purpose. The starting battery ensures reliable engine ignition, while the deep cycle battery provides a steady power supply for extended use of electrical systems and appliances on board.

Safety equipment

Marine safety equipment is crucial for protecting lives, assets, and the environment at sea, both during normal operations and in emergencies. It ensures compliance with maritime regulations and provides peace of mind for seafarers. High-quality equipment is essential for safe navigation, effective communication, and responding to accidents or disasters.

Frequently Asked Questions

These FAQs cover essential concerns boat owners have about maintaining and repairing their vessels, ensuring safety, reliability, and longevity on the water.

Do you service all boat engine types?

Yes, we service Outboard, Sterndrive (I/O), and Inboard engines. We service all of the major and most popular boat engines on the market today.

Can you check my problem immediately?

We understand that urgent boat maintenance is sometimes necessary and we strive to provide prompt service. While we always aim to accommodate immediate repair requests, our ability to do so depends on the current workload. Please contact us directly on +30-693-813-6790 or visit our shop to discuss your specific needs. What are your labor rates?

Labor rates range from €50 to €90 per hour. Our labor charges reflect more than just the time spent working on your boat. They encompass a variety of factors, including the technician's wages and social insurance contributions, overtime compensation, consumables and equipment costs, shop operating expenses, environmental fees, business overhead, seasonal variations, as well as the specific nature and complexity of each job.

Are there additional fees?

Yes, our services may include additional surcharges, such as a travel fee of € 0.50 per kilometer, and an emergency call-out fee of € 180 for work performed during off-hours or on days off. Working hours 07:00-15:00 Monday to Saturday.

How often should I service my boat’s engine?

It's recommended to service your boat's engine every 100 hours of operation or at least once a year, whichever comes first. Many assume annual service is enough, but boat engine servicing frequency depends on usage, engine type, and water conditions.

When should I change my engine oil?

Most manufacturers suggest changing the engine oil every 50 hours of operation or once per season, whichever occurs first.

How often should I check or replace the impeller?

It's advisable to inspect the raw water impeller every 100 hours or every 3 seasons, unless the engine runs warmer than usual.

When should I change my boats engine belt drive?

You should change your boat’s engine belt drive based on regular inspection and signs of wear rather than a fixed schedule, as conditions vary widely. Key indicators for replacement include visible cracking, fraying, splits, or if you notice rubber powder around the belt area, which signals deterioration. Manufacturers typically provide a recommended lifespan for the belts, usually between 3 to 5 years or around 300-500 hours of engine use.

What are signs that I need marine mechanic intervention?

Indicators include engine overheating, starting problems, unusual noises, fuel inefficiency, and electrical issues. Early professional diagnostics can prevent costly repairs.

Do I need to winterize my boat?

Yes, winterization is essential to prevent freezing and corrosion. This includes draining the cooling system, adding antifreeze, and treating the fuel system.

Should I leave my boat's fuel tank full during storage?

Keeping the fuel tank full helps prevent condensation and microbial growth. Additionally, adding a fuel stabilizer is recommended.

How long does a boat battery last?

The lifespan of a boat battery can vary based on several factors, including the type of battery, how often it’s used and how well it’s maintained. Proper maintenance - such as keeping terminals clean, avoiding overcharging or undercharging, topping up water levels in wet-cell batteries, and using appropriate chargers - can extend battery life. Lead-acid batteries typically last between 3 to 5 years, AGM batteries last about 4 to 8 years, Lithium-ion batteries have the longest lifespan, often lasting 8 to 14 years and Starting batteries generally last 5 to 10 years.
